Memorial: William McArthur

Corporal William McArthur, 13th Royal Scots, was born in Queensferry in 1879. He married in 1903 and moved to Addiewell.  He died on 24th July 1918 aged 38 during the Battles of the Marne, a phase of the Battle of the Somme during the 100 Days Offensive. William is commemorated on Soissons Memorial, Aisne, France, no panel ref. recorded. He was awarded a DCM for bravery in 1916.
